Automated email marketing is definitely an important tool to have in your arsenal. In reviewing the different systems out there, here are some factors you will want to consider when choosing your automated email marketing system.

  1. Is the email provider “white listed?” If they are not whitelisted, you will not want to choose them.
  2. That documents can be attached to the automated email drip campaign. Sometimes you may want to attach a .pdf to the email and its important to have that functionality available to you.
  3. Open rates: Its important to be able to determine not only if an email was opened but also what links in the email were most clicked on.
  4. Ease of Use: Many automated email marketing solutions seem to have been built by engineers without ever asking the user for their input. If you can’t figure it out within a day of using it, then “run”. It’ll never sink in!
  5. Compliance to the CAN-SPAM Act. You want to make sure that their is an unsubscribe at the bottom of each email.
